Lighting and weddings during daylight savings time!

Daylight savings time is wonderful for weddings. The longer days mean more natural light for a venue with lots of windows. Sometimes closing the curtains helps, however, if the venue has a view that is not a option. I always visit the venue(s) and then visit with my client to make suggestions for that particular space.

Things to remember about lighting and daylight savings time.
1. Lighting sets the mood. Think about the mood or moods you want for your ceremony and reception.
2. When the venue has windows, lighting is going to show best as the sun goes down.
3. Consider the time of your ceremony and reception when you have selected to have lighting.
4. When selecting a venue consider the interior and the colors you have selected.

This wedding was on the first day of daylight savings time. You can see the difference in the outside lighting at 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

This photo was taken at 8:30 pm. The sun was almost down.

The photographs below were taken at 6:00 p.m. You can see hints of sun through the shades.
